When coffee brands contact us about paper tube packaging, the same questions come up: what sizes are possible, how many pieces to order, how the printing works, how long production takes, what it costs, and how it will reach them. Earthycores by XWPAK manufactures custom paper tube packaging in Shanghai, Canada, USA, Philippines and this is how we handle coffee tube orders from first enquiry to shipment.
A coffee tube has a rigid paperboard body, an outer printed paper wrapped around it, and a lid and bottom made to fit that body. We make the dimensions to suit the coffee, not the other way round. Fill weights such as 50g, 100g, 250g and 500g are common, but the same weight does not always mean the same tube. Whole beans and ground coffee take up different volumes, so two 250g products can need different diameters and heights.
One point is often misunderstood. Paperboard rigidity is not the same as freshness protection. An ordinary paper tube is not automatically airtight and does not by itself give enough oxygen and moisture protection for roasted coffee. For freshness, the coffee is normally packed in an inner bag or another suitable barrier structure, and the tube protects and presents it. Lid fit matters too, because a coffee tube is opened and closed many times.
We confirm the customer's requirements and tube dimensions.
We review the artwork and printing requirements.
The materials are prepared and the outer paper is printed.
The tube body is formed and cut.
The lid and bottom are assembled.
We inspect dimensions, printing, appearance and closure fit.
The finished tubes are packed for shipment.
Earthycores accepts custom coffee paper tube orders starting from approximately 1,000 pieces, subject to the product specifications. Typical production time is 20 to 25 days, depending on order quantity, customization and our production schedule. This is production time only. It does not include international transit, and it starts once artwork and specifications are approved, so a delay in approval moves the whole schedule.
Earthycores works with international buyers and can discuss payment methods and commercial terms for each order. A unit price alone does not show an overseas buyer the full landed cost, so shipping terms need to be agreed together with it.
Earthycores packs tubes for export and can coordinate freight with the customer, including working with a freight forwarder. Large orders usually go by sea, and air freight is an option when speed matters. We help with the shipping documents, the delivery destination and shipping quotations. Customs clearance and import duties in the destination country depend on the terms agreed for the order.
First-time buyers often ask about FOB, or Free on Board. It is a shipping term, not a payment method. Under FOB the seller delivers the goods on board the vessel at a named port of shipment, and the buyer takes over from that point, arranging the sea freight, insurance and import clearance. The named port matters because it marks where responsibility changes hands, so check it before you agree.
If you are a coffee roaster or brand planning custom printed coffee tubes, send Earthycores your coffee fill weight, tube dimensions if you know them, quantity, printing design and destination country, and we will come back with a quotation and a realistic plan.
